SPEC Supports Select National and Regional PR, Social Media and Content Creation for the National Movement to Teach Kids to Ride Bikes in Public Schools
February 15, 2022 – Rapid City, S.D. /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE
ALL KIDS BIKE® a nationwide movement of the Strider Education Foundation, and SPEC PR, a public relations agency specializing in outdoor recreation, have teamed up again in 2022 to raise awareness for the ALL KIDS BIKE® mission to teach every child in the U.S. how to ride a bike in public school.
SPEC has provided pro bono services to ALL KIDS BIKE® since late 2020 and will continue working on a variety of priority national and major market projects this year. Most recently, SPEC supported the announcement of The NASCAR Foundation’s $250,000 commitment to supply the ALL KIDS BIKE® riding program to 50 schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the second largest district in the country.
“SPEC played a critical role in The NASCAR Foundation announcement and LAUSD program deliveries, and we believe the results will provide a significant boost in the awareness and support required to raise funds for more school programs across the country this year,” said Ryan McFarland, ALL KIDS BIKE® Founder. “SPEC injects a high level of communications expertise and professionalism combined with an obvious enthusiasm for our mission that comes from their own passions for outdoor recreation. They know firsthand the positive impact getting outdoors can have on individual students and entire communities.”
Last year, SPEC facilitated several grants and donations through the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative and Yamaha Bicycles that resulted in ALL KIDS BIKE® activations in numerous Santa Barbara, Cypress, CA, and Atlanta area schools.
“When you watch kids get on these bikes for the first time and realize that some of them would never ride a bike without this program, you can’t help but go all in on the ALL KIDS BIKE® mission,” said Van Holmes, SPEC PR founding partner. “We love riding bikes, but this is about much more than cycling – it’s about getting kids outside, giving them confidence and a sense of independence, getting them off the computer screen, and doing something fun with friends and family. We look forward to seeing the movement grow in the coming years until one day we have all the kids in the country on bikes.”
SPEC is partnering with ALL KIDS BIKE® through the agency’s beCause Marketing initiative, which supports the cause marketing efforts of brands and commits agency time and expertise to select cause marketing efforts.
ALL KIDS BIKE® programs are currently running in nearly 500 schools in all 50 states. On an annual basis more than 70,000 students are learning to ride a bike in kindergarten PE thanks to ALL KIDS BIKE®, and new schools adopt the program every month.
